Heading to PNC Park in June. Looking to see where a good place to stay would be. Never been to Pittsburg before, so I don't want to end up in a shady area. Would like to be in walking distance to PNC and something with secure parking for bikes. Any suggestions for places to eat too?

I live about 30 minutes away from Pittsburgh and have not actually stayed overnight put there are plenty of options for you. Within walking distance are Hyatt Place,Residence Inn and Springhill Suites right on the North Shore next to PNC. Plenty of good food at the ballpark and the surrounding areas between PNC and Heinz Field. There is a casino a little further down with a great buffet I have heard. You can also jump on the subway or the Gateway Clipper and cross the river to Station Square. There is a Sheraton hotel there with many bars and restaurants to fill any need. From there you can ride the Mon Incline to Mt. Washington and catch the best view of Pittsburgh you will ever see. There are restaurants up there as well with views of the city. All of these hotels have parking garages that would be safe for your machine. Keep it locked and covered and you will be fine. Pittsburgh streets are not very easy to navigate to an outsider so get yourself a map if you want to explore. PNC is a great place to see a game. Have a good trip and enjoy yourself,it's pretty safe there.

I'm an outside sales rep, and go to Pgh pretty frequently. I stay at a Hampton Inn on McKnight Rd. It's about a 15 minute drive to PNC. I'd be fine keeping my bike there while I was gone. I'd keep my bike there, and get a cab in to PNC, early enough to walk around, and go to a restaurant. That's what I'D do, but if you want to ride to downtown, this won't help you.
