I have been using an Eureka tent for 25 years and still as good as it was when I bought it. It is similar to this model: http://store.eurekatent.com/timberline-2-tent

I bought this one for my 20ish day trip out wast this summer. It wasn't much bigger than the 2 man tent I was going to buy. Doors on each side with vestibules for your gear. More money than you were looking to spend but you can't beat the LL Bean lifetime warranty!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm liking the Cabela 4 man but haven't made the final decision yet. Ride safe!

Glad to see so many know about the Eureka Timberline. I've used both the 2 and 4 man versions. The 4 when I was riding with a buddy. One would carry the tent the other would carry the fly, poles and pegs.

I like that it can be set up without stakes. Set it up then move to the best spot, then peg it out. And what works great in the morning is lifting it up and shaking off the condensation or flipping it on the side to face some morning sun.

I have gone through so many tents i the past and the best tents that I have found are the tents where the poles are combined with the tent. they are known as "INSTANT DOME TENTS" e.g. No threading of the tent frame.
Easy to install in the rain and is up in about 3 min or less..

These come in different qualities so watch out. Go to a tent shop and ask to build one and sit in it.

I couldn't find a 2 man Youtube version which fits on the bike but its the same method

Coleman Instant dome tent

Yes the one on the video is the 4 man tent but the 2 man tent does fit on the bike. I have one. It is great. Several times when it was raining i just popped it up and within 10 min I had my stove boiling hot water and heating the tent to dry off socks etc....

I bought a Cabelas tent. I think it is a three man. My twin blow up mattress fits well in it and you have plenty of room to store gear and get dressed inside. It had good reviews for keeping you dry. I have had it for three years. One heavy storm at Sturgis and not a drop of water. It packs to 16". Not many have poles that short.

Make sure you get a fly that covers the entire tent, buy a footprint, and seal the seams.
