Default Toronto to NYC for Lunch and back

A couple of friends and I are planning a one day ride to NYC and back leaving from just west of Toronto this summer. We thought we'd let as many people know as possible to see if we could get anyone else to join us for the ride.

Straight shot to NYC have a bite to eat then a quick picture at time square then back home.

Although we are leaving from Canada we'd be happy if any friends south of the border would like to join us otw down.

We've been asked why, our answer is always the same, why not.

That's a long day. How long is the wait at the border crossing? It was about an hour for us on the QC/VT border.

Virtually non existent when we'd be crossing. We rode to Boston last year. No wait at border.

Last year we did toronto to boston, boston to Long Island via ct, then to nyc and back. Not a straight ride we made a few stops, game at Fenway, visit a friend in Long Island then visited coney for a hot dog

You're not making it from Toronto to New York City and back in one day, lunch or not...

Add one more riding day then you're good to go.

Riding down and back the whole day doesn't justify.

Safe Travels,

Not unless they're trying to do an Iron Butt ride. But even then....

Toronto to Quebec City and back in a day vs. Toronto to NYC and back may look similar mileage wise, but not time wise! Traffic, traffic at the border(on return), and did I mention traffic! Oh, and parking the bikes, and going for lunch ,factor in a few hours for that as well.

No one loves a challenge more then I do but I have to agree with the majority here that its a bad idea....I've done Boston to NYC and back a few times and that's a long day and challenge in its self...I've ridden to Toronto in a day and back the next but never all in one day....I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying it shouldn't be done...

471.28 miles 8 hrs 12 mins not counting stops for gas and whatever oneway lunch add 2hrs and back 471.28 miles 8 hrs 12 mins plus. that a long day. Stop for a night each way break it up and enjoy the ride. 16 plus hours in a car sucks there is no way it's fun on a bike. I have done 14hrs once and that was the last time.
