Default Tombstone/Ruidoso trip

Headed out west in a couple of weeks to check out Arizona and come back through Ruidoso with the folks. Family spring break trips are a tradition for us. Staying in Tombstone 2 nights then Ruidoso 2 nights. Gonna stay at Van horn on the way out there and maybe eat at John Madden's favorite restaurant!

We had a trip to Eureka Springs Arkansas planned but this winter weather wont lay down enough for me to trust that we can go right now. Riding and Blizzards dont mix lol... We are just wanting to go see something different.

Can anyone thats been in that part of the country give me some good rides to take and things that are "must see" items?? I hear 191 from to Clifton from Tombstone is a real good ride... Let me know what yall think!

Bisbee is not a bad place to visit, if you're planning to stay in the area you can ride to the Sonoita area not bad roads to ride around on. I stay at the Larian when I'm in Tombstone you have more than a few choices. Shoot me a PM when you're going to be there maybe I'll join you for a beer.

Taken 191 up to Alpine. Then 180 back through NM. There is a mine tour in Bisbee. http://www.queenminetour.com/

Check road conditions. I rode from Albuquerque to Tombstone via Alpine and 191 4 years ago in late
March and 191 was "closed" at Alpine due to heavy snow. We took a look at the road, realized that
the road was "closed" because only a narrow lane had been cleared for state vehicle access, decided
WTF, we can always turn around and rode past the barricades.

The snow was up to six feet high on either side of the cleared lane and as little as 8 feet of pavement
was cleared. We made it, OK, but if there had been any snow in the last day or so, even a light dusting,
we'd have had to turn back.

It's still early in the mountains out here.. but that's a GREAT ride..

I honestly don't know if time is going to allow a lot of riding other than around tombstone and over to ruidoso.. I am gonna have to keep an eye other weather and conditions. My big worry is ruidoso and the snow, but we can adjust plans if we need to once we are in Arizona. Looking at the HOG maps, it seems that we have plenty of highlighted roads already part of our trip...which is awesome.

I really appreciate the feedback so far

US-191 doesn't go to Tombstone. The good ride is from Clifton north to Alpine, the Coronado Trail. It may be open this early because we haven't had a lot of snow this year. It is slow going, though - plan on 3 hours to cover ~100 miles.
