I can confirm that the place to stay in Wawa is the Best Northern. Say hi to Mark and Theresa the Polish couple that owns and renovated the place. They were awesome three years ago when I did the same ride. Ask Mark to serve you up some Polish Vodka. He was very proud of it.

Make sure you have a reservation in Thunder Bay. When we made the trip 3 summers ago, the EXPO was taking place in Thunder Bay. Rolled into town with no reservations and had to travel another 1.5 hours to find a room. Not a great idea when darkness and rain are coming. (Moose danger).

Have a great trip. One of the guys in our group say the tour rivaled any Sturgis ride he had ever been on. In fact, he is currently making the trip in reverse right now.

 

The coldest I have ever been in MY life was the night we spent at Thunder Bay. My folks drove around Lake Superior one summer and we camped there. I was never so cold in my life and this was the end of july !! beautiful country though !! Have a safe trip.
