Delaware Water Gap to Benington Vt
#2
Take 209 north through Stroudsburg up to Milford.
Stay on 209 through Pt. Jervis all the way up to Kingston and the bridge.
Cross the bridge 2nd traffic light turn right and go 1 mile to Rt. 9.
Left onto Rt. 9 north to junction with Rt. 23. You actually go straight across the intersection to get on 23 (9 turns left).
Rt. 23 east through Hillsdale into Great Barrington.
Left onto Rt. 7 north to Bennington.
Alternate return route:
From Bennington, take Vermont 9 west into NY state VT 9 runs into NY 7 at the border, keep going west.
Left onto Rt. 22 south (beautiful road)
Rt. 22 into Amenia, right onto 44 towards Poughkeepsie.
At Poughkeepsie follow 44/55 across the Mid Hudson bridge (as you go through town keep to the right, road turns left and then right and that will line you up for the bridge.
As you come over the bridge, you want to go south on 9w about 3-4 miles or so to Rt. 10. There is a traffic light with Stewart's shop on the left (good place for gas) and a car dealer on your right. Rt 10 goes off to the right.
Follow Rt. 10 through the apple country to intersection with Rt. 55 (go straight across for 55).
55 across the Mohonk mountain preserve to 209.
Left onto 209 and head south towards home.
(Actually, you can stay on 55 after the bridge, but south to County Rd. 10 is the nicer ride.)
