Thanks for all the tips, I think we're going to do the dragon again, then 28 through Franklin and Highlands, maybe all the way down to Walhalla tomorrow. Gonna be pushing it to get back, but whatever, we came to ride!
If it's lunch time in wALLHALA stop to eat at Varsity sandwich... they had fresh BBQ the last time we stopped and it was gooood...

Sounds like you have a great ride going, more details as you get them. I am heading that way in 2 weeks.

We had a great trip, got wet coming home but, that's all part of it. Otherwise the weather was as good as it could have possibly been. This was not even my thread, but thanks to everyone who helped, it was truly a trip to remember. We only made it as far as Highlands, from Deals Gap, down Moonshiner 28, on the last day of riding; spent too much time on the Dragon haha! Of all the roads, Highway 28 was our favorite. Very technical in a few places, but mostly just easy, smooth, twisty, and beautiful. Sure would have liked to have done the whole thing, but we've got something to look forward to next time. Highway 28 between Deal's Gap and Fontana Dam will be closed starting today for a few days, it seems like the sign said June 3-6, but it could be longer. There's another way around, so not a problem if anyone is going this week.

Yeah rt. 28 is a great road, we usally take it and end up in Helen, Ga. Next week will be my 7th time in just 3 years making the trek down south, it seems we never run out of great roads and locations to stay at.
