Default Las Vegas, Nv to the Dragon's Tail

In about 2 weeks, I'm f l y ing from Kenai, Alaska to Las Vegas, Nevada. Picking up my UL and my Bushtec Turbo 2 trailer and heading for NC. My plan is to run Interstate 40 all the way to Knoxville, Tn. I'll get off there and ride t h e Dragon's Tail. After that, head to the East coast and visit family.

Any thoughts?

How can you bypass the Rockies? Lots of good riding you'll miss by riding I40. I never ridden the Dragon, but I have ridden all over the rockies. Can't imagine the east can compare.

I would take a couple extra days and scoot thru Utah and/or Colorado to make the trip a bit more interesting before you hit the flatlands. SJ Ron

I-40 would be the most direct route, a lot to see along the way if you have the time.

I am Leaving Cali on Sat morning and also going across to the Smokies to do the Rattler and Dragon, but I am going via LV, Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley, Million Dollar Hwy, Denver, Garden of the Gods, Amarillo, Talimena Scenic Dr, Memphis, Nashville then do the Smokies and down to Savannah and finish up in Tampa And NO interstate riding!

Can't wait to fly out tomorrow and pick up my King and ride.....

What plans other than the dragon. Many good roads in this area of the USA.

I'm visiting the family but will do as much riding as i can. Mom's a priority though. Gotta spend quality time with her.. Any riding after that is icing on the cake. Flying back to Alaska until September.

Well, after you spend some mom time there is still some great riding in the smokies. Try to hit the Blue Ridge parkway, especially the NC sectioin. The Dragon is good, been on it a few times. Living in North GA its not far. If you can try to hit it on a weekday. Alot less busy. There are also guys sitting along the side that take pic's. Killboy.com is one. If you go on their website you can buy your pic of you riding the Dragon. make sure you stop at the bottom and visit the "tree of shame". There's a restaurant and motel there also, can't miss it. But if any way possible I would ride thru some of the Rockies, some great riding out there.
