Default Just took my first road trip

Some of you may remember I had a thread here a few weeks back asking for advice on going from just south of LA to Sacramento for a weekend college journalism conference. I just got back from that trip on my bike, and it was awesome. I took 99 up there, took PCH and 101 home. During that, I stayed a night at Big Sur.

It was my first real road trip, not just on my bike, but in general. I used to take trips with my parents and sister, but I never drove, never planned 'em, and slept for most of the time. It was always about the destination then.

I'll put some more details on here when I'm less exhausted, and I'll upload some pics once I get 'em developed and scanned (may take a while).

Oh, and to all you guys who say you can't tour on a Sporty...

Congratulations! Glad you had a good experience. I really enjoy touring and do usually 2 trips a year. This year I am going to Estes Park in June and Antlers OK in October.

I see a bagger in you future. Not that it can't be done on a sporty, the more you go on trips the more comfortable you'll want to be.

I toured my neighborhood as a kid on a Big Wheel.

Thanks guys. Turns out almost no one develops film anymore, so it'll take a bit longer than I anticipated to get the pictures up, but they're coming, I promise!

And yeah, I can see myself on a bigger bike eventually, but my financial situation will have to improve a LOT before I can make that happen. I don't think I'll ever get rid of my Sporty, anyways.
