The museum at Blue Mountain Lake is amazing! great ride too- from there you can shoot east. The ride up would probably be Utica to 12 to 28.NY 28.

Pick any county road in the Adirondack park and just enjoy the ride - I think RT 8 is my fav. Start at the PA/NY border and ride to Lake George - the lake not the village.

We rode across I-90 thru NY state (know as the northern tier) on our way to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and the toll booths drove me nuts!

However, it is the most direct route to the Adirondack Mountains without going through Canada.

There are no bad roads in Adirondack Park, some are just better than others.
If time permits, head up to Alexandria Bay NY on the St Lawrence River...the Thousand Islands Region.

Great road until you get to the Indian owned portion - horrible for a few miles then back to nice. We travel it in our toy hauler and it ends up costing about $50 from Albany to Buffalo, but worth the cost to us!
