Default motorcycle tow dolly?

Wife and I are moving from Texas to Florida, I've see these as a very cheap alternative but I'm wondering if they are a good idea for a long trip. Anybody have some wisdom to share?

Get a trailer intended for motorcycles. Even if you had to buy one you could sell it and not lose much.

Even a small 5'x8' utility trailer would do the job and would be easier to re-sale.

Funny...we just moved out of Florida. If you have one bike, I see no issue with these. In fact I would think they would be even better. I rented a Uhaul 12X6 for our two bikes and they are really not made for bikes. They have limited tie down points and we had to stop several times to retighten the straps. The roads in SC had both bikes bouncing around pretty bad. Sounds like you will be spending some time on I-10 in Florida. That's a pretty good stretch of slap until you get into the population centers where they use concrete. That will have your bikes dance around quite a bit. If you have a simple dolly I seems that your front wheel would act a a pivot point and as long as you are not going too fast the back end should stay pretty steady.

I have no experience in this dolly idea, but if one had a flat tire they could do some major damage before it became apparent. This is why I would get a trailer.

you better check and see if the transmission can take that without the engine running
I dont know if the trans would sling oil without the gears turning
