Skyline/BRP/Dragon Trip
I just returned from a 4-day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, starting at the Skyline Drive and ending with a run through the Tail of the Dragon. I came from Jersey so it was a 1750 mile loop.
It was an awesome trip and a lot of ppl are right on this forum, you can't find a bad road down there. First night we stayed in Bedford, VA and ate at a restaurant called Olde Liberty Station. They had the most amazing food!! It was also interesting to know that Bedford, VA lost the most amount of residents during D-Day in the nation. They have a nice D-Day memorial dedicated to those soldiers.
From there, we travled the entire length of the Blue Ridge, which is an amazing road to travel and provides some amazing sights. Once, we got to the end, we stayed in Cherokee, NC. This is a nice Indian town with a lot to see. Very clean and everyone was very nice and accommodating.
From here, we took a trip through the Dragon which was awesome!! Definitely worth the trip down. We got lucky and had no one on a sport bike tailing us or trying to pass.
From here, we rode up I-81 into Roanoke and stayed the night. We ate at another great restaurant in Roanoke called Thelma's Chicken and Waffles. Great fried chicken!!
After staying the night there, we headed home. It was a great trip and we lucked out and had zero rain all four days!!

Those are amazing shots! There are only so many roads that must be seen to be believed. You can take one off of your list. Only problem you can go back to that same area and find even more that will take your breath away.

I forgot to mention that we also rode the Diamondback, which is NC route 226A around mile marker 330 on the BRP. It is a smaller version of the dragon but still pretty intense! It's a pretty sweet road and its a loop so it brings you back around to the BRP. Just be careful because ppl live on the road and there was a few school buses coming the opposite way.
