Suggestions please for Cherohala and BRP

Buzzard II is right.
The last time we did th Skyline Drive's 105 miles it took us 5.5 hours!
The wind and rain wasn't nearly as bad or as dangerous as the loose gravel, deer and fog.
If it's rainy or foggy I'd suggest that you pass on the S.D. and go to Waynesboro, VA and hop on the BRP.
THe other option would be riding though to Asheville and then coming north on the BRP and S.D. if the weather forecast looks more promising.
