RE: Can anyone help with MT & WY Trip?
I second Mikey1450 on making it a 2 day trip with the Chief Joseph run in there. I made the trip last summer and spent a week in Cooke City travelling the Beartooth Pass, Chief Joseph Highway, watching wolf pups(Druid Peak Pack), day hiking Yellowstone wonders. Drove south to Jackson Hole and then over Teton Pass into Idaho and eventually through to Corvalis, Oregon for a trip down the coast to San Francisco. The 2 days to take in the sights from Billings to Yellowstone would be well worth it. I'm going back! Jay

I would 2nd the suggestion of day one. Take S D Hwy 85 north(think its exit 10) from Interstate 90. At Belle Foursche Hwy 212 west, its 65 miles shorter than the interstate, and will bring you back to interstate 90 at Hardin Mt. At Hardin a must see is Custer's Last stand battlefield. Its hard to miss you'll ride past it just before you return to the freeway. I've rid'n this area a lot. Its only 50 miles from here to Billings. Between belle foursche and hardinalong the open country if you look you should see a lot of antelope roaming around. Everybody rides differently but I've rode from Billings to Jackson Hole in one day comfortably. Reserve lodging early in Jackson if your not tenting, and enjoy the million dollar bar. Have fun and keep the rubber side down.

Was thinking about a similar route around July 4th. Was wondering if it would be possible to get Motel rooms (around the Montana/ Wyoming area)then without reservations. We were not planning every minute, just going to take it as it comes but I got to thinking about it being the 4th and all. Any Advice?
