Default I played hooky today.

Cool front blew thru last night. First day with 0% chance of rain for the last 3 weeks. So I called in sick and fired the Ultra up. Started out in Clifton Forge Va at the home of C&O 614. http://www.co614.com/ has better pics than I'll ever take of the big beast. Headed up thru Douthat State Park on Va 629. Beautiful ride up thru the middle of the park. Left on Rt 39 up and across several mountains with plenty of 10-20 mph curves. Hit Rt 92 north to get to Rt 66 (WV) to get my kicks. Sighted a UFO that landed in a farmers field.

Actually its Greenbank Observatory radio telescope. Rolled in to Cass railroad and caught #11 resting at the station.

Cass is an interesting look into life 100 years or so ago

On across Rt 66 ( fresh pavement and plenty of 25 mph curves woohoo) to Rt 219 south. Made a stop at Droop Mountain Battefield State Park to climb the tower and take a look around.

What a view.

260 mile round trip and home in time for dinner. Good thing there is a chance of rain tomorrow. Nothing like living in the mountains

I think if I lived in WV I would probably call in sick all the time. Cool pics glad you had a good ride.

I'm headed to that exact same area this weekend. Gonna see all those sights and do the Green Zebra tour at Snowshoe. Love that area!
