Thanks for posting. - Great pics.

While I have ridden all those places in the last couple of years, your pics make me want to do it again.

A great country we live in for riding......

RIDE ON...........

Great pics. How did you avoid all of the rain? I rode up through "The Snake" and 58 through Mount Rodgers. From there south to the BRP and down to Asheville. I had lunch Sunday at Mount Mitchell. Yes it was cool up there, in the upper 50's at 1:00 in the afternoon. I too managed to avoid most of the rain, but everybody I stopped and talked with told me of having ran through rain nearby.

I'm jealous. I have ridden the BRP the last two years. I started almost that same trip in mid-July. Was supposed to ride for 8 days with most of the stops you made, even the New River Gorge. On day two in Boone, NC a college girl rear ended me, while picking up a water she spilled, doing $8K in damages. I waited in a motel for two days while my brother drove my car with a bike trailer 450 miles to take me and my bike home. Thank God I was not hurt in any way, didn't lay the bike down, and the insurance company has been great. I gave all my maps to the couple I was riding with and they continued on the trip. I now ride a bicycle on the weeknds for exercise until the dealer gets the parts to repair my bike.
