Sinkiang is a place full of mystery. This mysterious land breeds so many legends and fabulous landscape. Leaving the green Hemu, we were heading to the boundless Gobi desert. Our next stop will be the stunning God's palette: Palette town. Who will think of the sand turn into different colors after thousands' of years' corrosion。 If you don't see this by yourself, you cannot believe nature can make mountains so colorful. This spot is said discovered several years ago on exploring oil, evoluted from the riverbed millions of years ago. To some extent, we should thank those devil entreprises. Thanks to them , we could see how God make this land into a Palette.
Not far from this is another scenic spot: Ancient sea spring. It's a spring 700 million years ago. The idea is good and the spring is good. But we don't recommed the spot construction and hotels. The administration is immeasurably different with Kanas.

Hundreds of millions years ago, Sinkiang is a sea with lives. Crust changed through the years and the sea is gone. Heat wave swallowing this greenland. Kanas became a precious green pearl here.The Gobi desert silently buried the glorious past inside its heart and prolonged its life in the wind and sand.

【Ancient sea hot spring】
Ancient sea hot spring is formed of crust change and man exploration. It's located in the vast and mysterious Gurbantunggut desert,inside Karamaili natural preservation area, near G216 National road. It is the golden way to Kanas and an important tourists distributing centre.



【Palette Town】
It's located on the borader of west desert of Karamaili natrual preservation area, the area is abt 50,000km2., it has the color of red, yellow, green, grey, black and white and it's formed by wind and river corrosion. The spot is consists of palette town, wild animal spot,petrified woods,diablo canyon, fossils and singing sands mountain. Palette town is the main shooting location of Oscar best foreign language film--Crouching tiger,hidden dragon.
Palette town is 280km north of Altay Fuyun county in Sinkiang and the evelation is 650m. It's a paltform corrosed by wind and water,10-20m high, the highest is 50m.The distribution area is abt 10km2. Generally composed by jurassic strata without sharp angles. The color of the rocks are various, mostly red, combined with green, yellow, white,black and transition color, like colorful castle. It has a better visual effect compared to ghost city , Yadan landform in Urho .

 

Thank you for the journey. It's been very nice and educational too. I have to ask about where you're getting your fuel for the journey. Not too many gasoline stations have been visible in your pictures. Nice road trip. Once in a lifetime type roadtrip.

 

Mostly, we filled our tank at gas station. There are gas stations along National road. We have oil bags and oil cans with us along the journey, too.
