Default Satellite Beach FL to the Grand Canyon (Pic Heavy)

Finally my friends I have completed my first major road trip. Although I prayed for a vacation with very little "adventure" I got more than my portion of both! Our first real taste of adventure was "bridge hopping" down I-10 thru FL.

We were trolls for most of the day. Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisianna were uneventful until we made it to West Texas. We were not ready for 40+mph wind gusts on I-10 all the way to Ft. Stockton. After that, New Mexico and Arizona were fine until the "Great Pink Out" on 160 from Kayenta to Tuba City.

Kristin almost got blown off the road as I saw her move from my right rear view to my left. Heritage's just don't track (or is that tac) like the Road Glide. At any rate, the winds blew the orange desert talc into a fine pink cloud. We made our destination Lee's Ferry Lodge in Marble Canyon Az.

A great little getaway with a cast of characters that will keep you busy seeing that they have no TV or Internet.

The final straw was when Kristin was able to sheer off a transmission linkage and we limped it into the nearest HD dealership who of course did not have the part and would have to overnight it. So...working on the "lemonade out of lemons" theory we two-up'd it thru the various sights in the area for the 3 days they had it. While I was awaiting my ultimate date with the **** probe from the service dept. we were able to get shots that were not possible on two bikes. A blessing in disguise and worth the $$$$$ it took to get her bike back!

After all this we were unable to make it back thru the high winds and "Little Bear" fires of New Mexico.....and we just did not have another 1800 plus in us. So the final straw!

Suffice it to say...it was an odyssey, one I do not regret except putting my wife in a dangerous situation. Looks like it's a new trailer for Christmas!

Videos to come if you are not already bored to tears!

Dude! I'm truly sorry we did not make it down your way. I still owe you that adult beverage. We were heading that way but I-10 to Ft. Stockton Tx. was just brutal. It was like being passed by a semi tractor for 3 hours straight. So I made the decision to head north and try to get out of the weather.
