Default Road Trip USA at Cracker Barrel

I had a motorhome and sold it last September to buy a 2007 UC. The one item I kepted when I sold the RV was a book I purchased at Cracker Barrel called ROAD TRIP USA two lane highways.

It has several two lane highway road trips in it from start to finish and all the neat attractions along the way. The mother road(RT.66), The Great River Road(along the Mississippi river), The lonliest road in the US( HWY 50) and many more.

Step by step details and a great read to get the jucies flowing this time of year. The wife and I are planning the HWY 50 trip in the late spring or summer. Just thought some of you would be interested.

Hiway 50 is a great ride. Just remember, when you see a gas station, stop and fill up! They are scarce.

Default Got it

Thanks for the info. I'm planning a trip from south Florida to NY and CA. It looks like this is just the book I need. Purchased it along with two more at Amazon.

Cracker barrel is one of the few places that still knows how to fry okra... (Not as Good as my Grandmother, but still acceptable!!!)!!! BTW... (what??? you thought you were getting out of here without useless trivia be directed at you???) the Angolan (and therefore "Gullah" dialect) word for "Okra" was "Gumbo". So Okra soup is called "Gumbo" (and has had a lot of extra ingredients added to it over the centuries) because the main ingredient is "Gumbo" or "Okra"!!!

Get out the cast iron skillet, some lard, and corn meal... there's fried okra on the minue tonight!!!

Ummmm... Okra... Chicken fried steak... white gravey and biscuits...!!!
