Default Sturgis

Myself and my buddy are planning to ride to Sturgis on the first week of July from Toronto Canada. We will be driving thru Michigan to get on the Muskegon ferry to Milwaukee and then on to Sturgis. I was just wondering what type of weather is to be expected that time of year? Also any recommended camp grounds while in Sturgis? Thanks in advance!!

Can't comment on the campgrounds as I've never camped before, but pack for ALL kinds of weather. You'll run into extreme heat, driving rain, and possibly hail as well. The evenings can get very cool too.!!! Pack for it all and do yourself a favor.

Creek side campground if you're looking to get some sleep. Good food. Nice people.

We stayed at Suzies during the rally last year and it was good for the price. I don't know if Shade Valley is open when you are planning to be there but agree that is a nice spot. Suzies is just east of the veterans cemetery at exit 34 and a couple miles from downtown. Shade Valley is about 10 miles out of town.http://www.suziescamp.com/

Jg is right about sturgus weather. One year we went it never broke 65, most the day in the 40's. Another year never below 80. It always storms for at least a short time, often with hail. I've been six times and there always seems to be a day of extreme weather, but most the time (but for the cold year) it has been sunny and comfortable (75F+)
