Default I-77 thru WV need opinions!!

Tomorrow i am going from Canton to Lexington, VA. They're calling for rain, anyone rode through WV in the rain?

Its a perfect ride about 400 miles or so, but something about riding through mountain in the rain doesnt sound like a good idea.

...any input?

Rain gear is my only suggestion. Good luck, you probably already left...

Pouring rain, fog, clouds, slick roadway, truck traffic. What can go wrong? On a sunny day it is a great ride.

Its like riding in the rain in any other state only our roads have more curves.........j/k. Only suggestion is to not be in a hurry on the turnpike (charleston south to last toll booth). Shame its going to be a crappy day cause there are a lot of great roads when you ge off the interstrate.

I live in Charleston WV. It's not the hills on I-77, it's the curves south of Charleston. Great ride on dry pavement. Just slow down and you should be fine.

On a bike I'd suggest getting off I77 before it turns to toll road south of Charleston and follow Rt 60 east. Lot better scenery. Get back on I64 at Sam Black Church. Rode part of that today in the rain coming home from work.

Thanks for all the input. I ended up driving...booo... probably a good thing it was a little intense. If i wouldve been on 2 wheel probably wouldve not been too enjoyable.

But man what great roads, taking 64 from Beckly to Lexington was one of the best roads ive ever been on.. Man we dont have anything like that in Ohio (that ive seen).

Possibly not W.Va. caliber but there are some pretty tasty roads in SE Ohio
