By the way Jake, when I went out there in 2010, I thought I might do that Grand Canyon Skywalk. A couple of guys talked me out of it because I guess it's not part of the state or U.S. parks. It's run by the indians. I heard that there's several miles of unpaved, rough road to get to where you'd park the bikes unsecured for a few hours, to take a bus to get to the skywalk. I let a few of the locals talk me out of it. Maybe somebody from out there, will have something else to add.

Since I want to ride all these roads you all mentioned, I am considering trailering the bike to west Texas or Las Cruces to save some time. The trip is gonna be about 1,800 miles (one-way), and I am sure that would take me four days with the better half on the back.

Maybe we could just fly out there somewhere and Rent??? Good thing I have plenty of time to over-analyze everything....

You will LOVE this part of the southwest! All the posts gave good advice. Oak Creek Canyon out of Flagstaff is great, a side trip to Monument Valley is so worth it. Stay on Navajo land in the View Hotel. Serious views from the balconies from every room for perfect sunsets.

You can fly into Phoenix, rent there and ride north on Highway 17. We like Albuqueque, Santa Fe too, east of Phoenix. We ride from California into Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and have loved the whole "Golden Triangle" area
