Default Florida Keys hotels.

Thinking about riding the Keys with the wife sometime in the next couple of weeks. Anybody know of any decent motorcycle friendly hotels there that don't cost an arm,leg and both......... ahh you get the idea.

I rode down to Key West after Daytona in 2010 and stayed here http://www.marreros.com/ maybe not the cheapest place around but ideally situated and they have a small area where you can park you bike.

Default Any more suggestions?

Any more suggestions? Also, weather-wise, when is the best time to go? April? May? In June it''s probably getting too hot, right?

Not sure of the best time but I know right now is peak peak season so rates are high. I'm hoping to get down there before the heat of the summer. Thinking of maybe going to Leesburg Bikefest the end of April and heading on down.

The Westin in Key West is right off the water, Mallory Square, Duvall and Front Streets. SJ Ron

I stayed at a Marriott chain there. I was able to park in a parking garage. They were very bike friendly there.

My wife and I along with another couple stayed at the Blue Marlin a couple of years ago. We checked around before booking it. It was priced in line with any other that we researched. The location was within walking distance of the "southern most point" and Duval st. It was a clean, older place with some updates.

Don't go during Spring or Fall Break times.
Traffic can be rough then.
One way in and one way out.

I stayed at Sunset Cove Beach Resort on Key Largo. It's old, but it was clean. Kinda like going on vacation back in the '60's. I thought it was neat. I rode in late at night and got the room for $89. I think it's almost expected that you negotiate a lower price than what's posted on their website. There are a couple of good restaurants within walking distance.

Several attachments of the place and website.
