Default Eating at or near Richwood Wv.

Leading a group down to West Virginia in July, does anyone have any suggestions for places to eat in or near Richwood WV we will be heading south on 20 then east on 39 from Fenwick. Anyone ever hear of a place called Dirty Ernie's Ribs near the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville
Thanks

Pickings are pretty slim in Richwood. Better off to wait and eat in Summersville. Just be sure and obey the speed limts there. Dirty Ernies food is pretty good. Might look at Pies and Pints in Fayetteville as well.

Dirty Ernies has changed hands since I last ate there. Don't know what the food is like now but back then it was +10. Every wall in the place was covered with some denomination of paper money signed by the donor. Great atmosphere. Make sure you do the loop that goes down to the river and look around. Summersville has some great places to stay and eat. As DuraGlide said,WATCH YOUR SPEED, LEO's are known for their enforcement tactics.

Road is paved and one-way now. Some pretty steep switchbacks, could be some gravel if there has been a hard rain recently. Veiw from the bottom is awesome. I hauled coal with a tractor trailer on the Fayetteville side back in the mid 80s when it was two way traffic. Really interesting trying to dodge the rafting company busses going down to the river. Things are much more civilized now. Somewhere on this site is a video that someone shot while riding the road.

I would try Mumsey's Iron Skillet, 761 Richwood Rd. I have not eaten there, but have traveled by several times and have read some good reviews. Don't know of any other place in Richwood!
