Here's the plan: Leaving Louisiana in route to Florida and an Iron Butt along the way. The wife is not doing the Iron Butt with me so I'm sticking her on a plane and picking her up in Miami. Once she is aboard the bike we are headed to Key West. I know there is plenty to do in Key West but what about in between.I thought about sending this to the Fl Crew also. Thanks in advance. FT

 

Sorta planning the same trip again.. I did it once in January. Try to go from Miami through Homestead during early morn or at night- the traffic was horrible. Have a reservation in place if you're staying near Key West. Limited hotel rooms even in January. Wear sunscreen- the whole ride is into the Sun and it's several hours. Pull off and explore the many Keys, they're all pretty small and unique. Walk around Key West at night-it's a human documentary accompanied by crowing roosters. Be careful when passing-lots of motorhomes. Good Trip!

 

Stop and eat at The Fish House in Key Largo. If you like seafood you won't be disappointed!

Rum Runners are a must at the Tiki Hut in Islandmorada! Hand feeding the Tarpon at Robbies is fun also.

 

Lock the throttle open and run 135 across the seven mile bridge. Oops, that was my Honda.

Beware of the Monroe County sheriff. I was popped for 4 over on the Bahia Honda bridge. They really don't like motorcycles.

 

Here's a must do - be sure your back tire isn't worn down to the cords before you start off on the 7 mile bridge. I'm just sayin'....

Great ride other than that, and we had a great time staying right on Duval St at the Pegasus Int'l Hotel.

 

The conch shack at 118 duval, awesome conch fritters and cold beer. a walk up restaurant in Key West

 

If you are around Islandmorada in the evening stop by woodies and poke a stick at big dick.... Holiday Isles Tiki bar is a must Stop on Big Pine for a steak at KDs and let the wife pet the key deer (dont get caught) Hit no name pub hell I have more fun out of key west

 

And don't miss the bar that always has a 10 to 1 ratio of girls to guys. It;s the place where all the babes go to hit on guys....shoot, I can;t remember the name.
