not much to see out that way. i would take I-10 west(speed limit of 80 from junction on) to fort stockton and north thru pecos to artesia. from there head to hope, mayhill, and cloudcroft and on to ruidoso. lots of wildfires out there this year. was thru there in may and even the national forests were closed to campers. if this is your first trip--carlsbad has the caverns, roswell has the u.f.o.'s, and almagordo has the white sands.

Dan, I usually travel Tx36 to Abilene then I20 to Roscoe then US 84 to Plains. I've found this to be a better route than I 10. We have a house in Alto and travel by cage a few times a year. This will be my first trip this year. I've done the Roswell thing and the caverns. I do like the idea of coming in thru Cloudcroft. Great changes in altitude along with a few twists. Any other suggestions?

are you going thru Ft Stockton then north on 285? to Carlsbad NM, Artesia, Roswell and West to Ruidoso? If so go a little west from Carlsbad and drive across Guadalupe Pass and El Capitan...the highest mountain peak in Texas, majestic and a beautiful ride thru there. If you have time, ride on over to Carlsbad Caverns, park the bike and take the walk thru the caverns and have a good meal there
