Default Trip Suggestions: Going WEST from FL

We will be making a trip from our home in FL to San Antonio TX, then on to South Rim of the Grand Canyon near Flagstaff, AZ Any suggestions on sites to see or areas to ride?
We also will continue on to Grand Junction and Denver CO.
Any usual or scenic ride suggestions would be appreciated.

Well depending on how you go, you could stay at the Big Texan Steakhouse and motel. Try the steak challenge if you are ambitious and take a dip in the Texas shaped pool. '4 corners" is a good stop. Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado all meat there. You can do a push-up in 4 states at once.

If you were to pass the Ocean Springs, MS exit 57 and you are hungry try "The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint", Wed-Sun, just north of I-10. Harley dealership just south of the interstate at the Cedar Lake Road MS exit 44.

Carlsbad Caverns, Billy the Kid Trail in Ruidoso NM, Emory Pass NM and over to Coronodo Trail in AZ, Winslow AZ and then the south rim.

Enjoy the ride!

In Colorado the Million Dollar Highway from Durango to Ouray is a must. On the north edge of Durang is a place called Real Texas BBQ, great lunch stop. Silverton is a nice stop along the route. Stay at the Black Canyon Inn in Montrose, CO then head east on Hwy 50.

From Silver City NM, cut over to 191 in eastern AZ. Hit Petrified Forest and Painted Desert, then over to Flagstaff. If time permits run down to Sedona and up to Jerome. Then back north to the Grand Canyon. The Petrified Forest and Painted Desert aren't a must see.

If I got the choose the route this is where I would go... at least from Las Cruces to Grand Junction....

ride the Mogollon Rim, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Monument Valley, Moki Dugway.

google map

If I had the time, a couple more days, I change it to this... add Capitol Reef, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Bryce Canyon

Another google map
