Back from the Holy Land
Got back on Tuesday evening from my 5400 mile trip to Sturgis. I was by myself until I met my friends in Deadwood last Thursday. Had a GREAT trip and went through a LOT of different states. The absolute BEST rides I had were from Red Lodge, MT over the Bear Tooth Pass into Cooke City, and into Yellowstone. The other incredible ride was from Cody, WY through Sheridan, WY and into Gillette, WY. It was some of the prettiest roads I've ever seen.
Had a few challenges on the ride (blowout on the rear tire on the third day at about 80mph and monsoon rain on the second day), but overall I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Enjoyed Deadwood and Sturgis, but we spent a lot of time at Rapid City, SD at Black Hills Harley.
Great rides.....great weather for the most part (it was damn COLD in the AM every day....50 degrees and I didn't bring my leathers....my bad) and the people I met were great.
Regardless.....really look forward to more long trips on my bike. I got it in February and it was a 2010 Street Glide with 4,400 miles...the odometer now reads a little over 16,500 miles.....this bike likes to GO.
Anyway....thanks for listening.....
