We road through this pass in mid July. This is about 3 miles of gravel on a road where you can't get out of first gear. We were lucky we were going up hill through this pass. Up hill on gravel and some of the 180 degree turns we partialy paved. This is one of the most intimidating roads I have ever been on. Does anyone else have any comments on this pass I would like to hear them.

my dad and i did it 2 years ago pulling a 34' gooseneck toyhauler.last fall a buddy and i went down it on our 2wheelers, had a great trip. its a blast, just gotta go nice and easy. great riding area in the fall , winter and spring. to hot in the summer for me.
Been there, done that, its a memorable experience. Hubby enjoyed the trip, he was in control, his hands were on the gas & brakes, but as the passenger I found it nerve racking! Thank goodness for the cold beer and great steak when you get to Mexican Hat!!
