Northwest Montana suggestions
A group of four of us have 4 days to spend riding northwest Montana. Right now we plan on spending two nights at the Yaak camprground near Troy. Other than county hwy. 508, are there any other hidden gems in this area some of you locals could help us out with? All of us have already done the trip to Glacier and the surrrounding roads, so we'd prefer to stay off the heavily traveled roads many summer travelers will be taking at the time. We do eventually plan on heading towards Missoula and Hwy 12 down through Lewiston as well. Thanks ahead for any advice.

There's a nice road that takes you down to MT 200, can't recall the #. Take a look at heading to Thompson Falls, Mont. on 200 and then over Thompson Pass into Idaho. You'll go through Murray, ID where you should stop at the Sprag Pole Bar/Museum/Cafe. You folks could be parched or hungry by then :-) If you continue on (rather than just doubling back), that road comes out on I-90 just east of Coeur d'Alene. You could then just continue south on 3 to St. Maries and work your way down to US 12 and head east to Missoula. It's a sweet ride with the river on your right.
