Brodie CA Ghost Town

I vacation in the eastern sierras, and have been going to Bodie since I was a young lad. From the turn-off at 395, the road to Bodie is about 13 miles. The first 10 are paved and no problem at all. The last three are left intentionally unpaved. The idea I believe is to help you transport yourself back in time. The road is hard-pack dirt, with little or no washboard. Take your time and you will be fine. Bodie is an amazing locale... perhaps the best preserved authentic ghost town in the west. There are ranger led tours, but most people explore on your own. You definitely should go when in that area!

Bodie Ghost Town - Dirt Road
Saw in last year's posts that you were planning on going out to Bodie on the bikes. Did you? Was last 3 miles ok? I am not great in gravel, but dirt is ok - I ride a street glide and am planning on a side trip there on way to Yosemite via 395. Just wanted to know if it was ok for the both of you - I've been riding about 4 years and have just tried to avoid gravel/dirt on the bike, so not much experience under those conditions. Was the town great to see?
