As you probably heard by now the state of Ga. got a big grant from the feds. to do the M/C only checkpoints, and last weekend they had them allover the place as a buddy of mine went through one comming from Cartersville, Ga. on I-75 and got a ticket for having a non-D.O.T. approved helmet and he said they checked his bike VIN #, had him blow in an alco-sensor, even though he was not drinking, and evreything else passed, so the let him go with the NON-D.O.T. ticket, so heads up if you ride in Ga. this weekend, better have a D.O.T. approved helmet, all your paperwork in order, good tires, and no alcohol in your system, because they will be having these roadside checks all over.
A group of about 4 of us will be leaving early on Fri. to go to a rally in Monteagle, Tn., and we will be taking mostly all backroads, we will all have our D.O.T. helmets on, and we will wait until we get to the rally before any drinking is done, so heads up if you're in Ga. this weekend.

I thought that I had read on one of the forums or maybe elsewhere, that the M/C only checkpoints were being challenged in the court system. Any ABATE guys out there who might know? Thanks for the heads up, though.
