We stayed at the national park service campsite behind the store, resturant, gas stop on skyline drive. I dont remember the name of the place but it was nice. The tent sites are that you have to walk to site but its only about 100- 300 feet. So you could still see your bike. They also have you bear proof metal boxes so if you have but all your stuff in there at night and dont have to worry if it rains.

Check this out: http://www.nps.gov/blri/planyourvisi...ge-parkway.htm
I live between Julian Price and Linville Falls, both have trout fishing and picnic facilities with charcoal grills. Water and bathrooms at both, nice places to sleep, with awesome things to see nearby. Julian Price is closer to Blowing Rock, Linville Falls is near a couple of good places to eat in the village. Both are close to the Linn Cove Viaduct and Grandfather Mountain.
