Nothing better but...

The ride up through Jerome and over Mingus mountain to Prescott is a nice ride. So is the ride through Camp Verde to Pine/Strawberry and Payson; or, at the 260/87 junction, you could head north to Winslow. The Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert national parks are pretty cool too (I really enjoyed my ride through the park.) Pretty much any road along the Mogollon Rim or in the White Mountains will be awesome in the summer.

Meteor Crater is on the way and I think is way cool (if you like that kind of thing).

There are some pretty nice stretches of route 66 in AZ too if you like the nostalgia thing. Places like Holbrook, Winslow, Williams, Ash Fork, and Seligman are all pretty neat places to see.

Thanks for the response everyone. Worried about the weather
as it snowed on us yesterday coming out of Flagstaff, and the
wind is always present. Of course dont have chit to ride with,
clothes wise. But we do have Fri. open, looks like a go. Mommy
wont ride without a helmet, but I been thinking about a new
one for her. JUst hate to be pushed into buying on the spot.

if it's an HD dealer they'll have helmets for you to use if you don't have one, as the rental agree requires helmet use even in a no helmet required state. I'd take 89A south to prescott(Whiskey Row?) then down the Yarnell Hill to wikenburg, then across towards Lake Pleasant US60S to Hwy74E (burger at the Wild Horse?)to Cut River Rd to I17 North back to Flagstaff.
