Default Fall Watergap ride

I had today off so I decided to take a nice ride up through PA from south Jersey to the Delaware water gap. I was going to shoot over to 7 lakes region in NY but did'nt happen (more on that later)
The weather for today was forcast to be 75+ and partly sunny. I got an early start and wore my summer gloves and jeans along with a leather jacket (t-shirt underneith) thinking the temps were going to rise. I started on 295 to rt 95 to route 32 north in PA. Mann the temps just dropped right along that river! I was chilllly. Once past New Hope I continued on to rt 611 through Easton PA. For those un familiar 611 follows the delaware river then takes you through some nice farmland towards the Delare water gap. I was going at a fun pace but was very weary in some curves because 1) the road was damp and 2) the leaves in PA had started to fall. I took a short hop on rt 80 west to the Delaware Water Gap recreation area. This is the only place that I managed to snap a few photo's because I was having too much fun riding. I beat on the bike a bit to see what the new pipes and DFI did for performance (Not soo much on the bottom compared to stock but much more on top)

After taking a breather at the Gap I hopped back on rt 80 west and grabbed rt 94 north with the intention of going into New York state and heading east on 7 lakes drive near Bear Mountain. I stopped for a few greecy slices of pepperoni pizza in Vernon, NJ and asked what the weather had said ( the clouds were looking more ominus and the temps dropped) . The girl behind the counter said that it was a 70% chance of rain. Now just to note, I am one of those weirdo's that actually likes riding in the rain. BUT- not with an ambient air temp of 50F. I comtemplated my plans for a good 15 minutes before deciding that NY would have to wait for another day so I headed back south on 94 and grabbed 519 south. 519 is probably one of the best roads in NJ. Farmlands, Mountains, curvs etc.. Once 519 intersected 78 west I did a little slab for about 10 minutes to get on 611 south. From 611 I got 32 south back through New Hope where I stopped for a much needed hot coffee.

Overall not a bad "end of season" ride. I ride allyear long but this was my last "long" ride before my wedding (Getting hitched Nov 4) so I could not pass the day up. Total from my driveway back to my driveway was 300 miles. I can and have done 600+ mile days but todays ride was about 80% twisty mountain roads which shaved time off of my trip. It was worth it though!
