Who's staying at Shade Valley for Sturgis this year? Made our reservations last weekend and might be interested in meeting some HDF members while there. Check in here if you're interested.
I'll be riding in solo from San Antonio, Texas. This will be my 4th consecutive year at Shade Valley. The facilities are top notch. The body-painted female staff in the Eye-Candy saloon are a treat.
I will look for the Maryland plates. See y'all there.
Would Shade Valley be considered a loud or quaint camp ground? Like is it nothing but noise 24/7 or is shut eye easy? Sounds like a decent place from the web site and all. Still trying to figure if ride in and camp or make early reservations.
Cool, John, and Thrill of it All, I can't say since I haven't been before is there will be some partying, and don't bring the kids, but you should be able to get SOME sleep there. Guess that depends on your sleep habits. Guess at any place during the rally, you'll have someone try to act a fool and be obnoxious at 3 in the morning. Talked with Trudy at the front desk and she sounds like a wonderful lady. Seems like they have fewer restrictions on what you can bring in. Mainly food and drink. Sounds like that could save a lot of money right there. Definitely no Buffalo Chip or Broken Spoke partying going on, it seems. Anyone who's been and can let me know if I'm wrong, all input is welcome, cause I need my beauty sleep, too.
I will be at Shade Valley for my 4th consecutive rally. That said, when the Eye Candy Saloon closes for the night and everyone gets back to their sites then it gets really quiet. I need my sleep too. So from 0300-0800 it's quiet.
Shade Valley allows you to bring your own beverages. food, bbq's, whatever.
The little store on-site sells plenty of beer and ice.
