Default Gas availability in eastern Nevada.

Heading for four corners area in early June and want to take 93 south from Jackpot to Ely and then continue south on 93 connecting to 56 into Cedar City Utah , or taking 50 east out of Ely to Delta. I have not riden from wells south to Ely which looks like 140 miles and a stretch. Then east on 50 from Ely to Delta looks like 160 and not possible. I have gone south from Ely to Panaca with no problem but the ride wasn't that great so does anyone have any information on gas availability from Wells to Ely and or Ely to Delta? Any info on these routes greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well I've gone from Delta to Ely heading west, and don't recall gas being a problem. That was several years ago. The bike I had at the time easily would do 160+ on a tank, however, but my buddy's bike would only do around 130+.

I've never driven from Wells south, but unless there's some sort of town on the map, you're probably screwed. There's definitely no gas between Wells and Jackpot NV. Looking at the satellite map, there may be something on highway 93 where it doglegs toward Ely. But I'd definitely want to find out.

Default Gas

Been to Ely and around that area and not had a problem finding gas. But usually what I do is google the towns along the way. Most have web sites now and when you go to them they have lists of businesses and services. I usually can get 200 miles per tank but one of the guys that rides with us only gets about 150 so we have to plan for him. Hope this helps, and have a great ride.

I'm in Cedar and have ridden this route several times. When we head for Reno or onto California we typically get gas in Panaca (eastern side of Nevada at junction of 93/56). There's a station right at the corner that is clean and usually has a friendly attendant.

It's only 120 +/- miles from Ely to Panaca, so that's an easy ride on the HD.

Not the most exciting ride, but the end points are great. :-)

If you decide to go this way then plan a stop in Baker, NV, near Great Basin National Park. There's a couple spots there to get gas and eat. I've stopped a couple times at the Border Inn (restuarant/motel/gas) on the corner of 6 and 50. I believe they are open 24 hours a day. If not, there's a self-serve (no attendant) pump station right down the road. I know it's "open" but only takes credit/debit cards (no cash because there is no person to take it).

no problem with gas Ely to Delta as mentioned. the stateline is about 90 miles from Delta, so gas up in Ely then top it off at the border.

That's the key, really. If you can't make it all the way from Ely to Delta, be sure to stop at the border. There's no gas between the border and Delta.

Any gas stations between Ely and West Wendover? My wife and I will be rolling the dynas on the 50 between Carson and Ely in August on our way home to Canada, gas would be nice once we turn North on the 93.

For what it's worth, Lages Station on the junction of 93/93a between Ely and Wendover/Wells is now closed for good. No fuel or food.

This map shows the current gas stations as red boxes around the Wendover area.

May have to make a route change. I might have to do the 50 both ways.

If you fill up in Ely or McGill you should easily make it to West Wendover, it's 110 miles between McGill and Wendover. I can get to McGill from Wendover on one tank with my 3.3 gallon Sporty.

And if you're in Wendover in August you may hit a Bonneville Speed event.
