My riding buddy and I will be heading down to the Chandler, AZ area for a few days in early May. Where would be some good places to ride to? I guess Sedona is close by, is it worth going there? We'll be there for 2-3 days at his daughters place. Thanks.

Sedona is nice, Check out Tombstone, Hwy 88 up to Saguaro lake and then on over to Roosevelt and hwy 188 down to Globe and then hwy 60 back to Chandler or for shorter from Roosevelt turn onto hwy 88 back to apache junction...fun ride.

From Chandler take 60 east through the Salt River Canyon through Globe, Show Low to Springerville. Then take the Coronado Trail (191) south and enjoy the many views. Stop at Hannagans Meadow for lunch. Either double back the way you came or continue south to see the rest of the trail to Safford. Get on the 70 then head north back to Globe and make your way back to Chandler. From where you are staying it plan for an all day ride but it is well worth it.

From the southern end of the trail you could easily hit Tombstone but I would recommend an overnight there so you can spend that evening and the next day seeing the sights that area and it is only short hop back to Chandler from there.

If you are looking to link up with some locals for a tour of really good rides..post up in the Southwest Section or drop by the Arizona Riders Group in the social section.

As the other post said....do the Coronado Trail. It's 150 miles of twistys, little to no traffic in the middle of nowhere.
