Natchez Trace to New Orleans

The Trace Parkway isn't about the scenary, it's about history. There are quite a few sections of the original Trace that are preserved. The whole objective is to give the public a nice laidback ride and show how people covered the distances between settlements a couple hundred years ago. We rode the Trace on the way to Texas last year and enjoyed it. It's not for someone that's in a hurry.

I was born and reared jsut 2 miles from the Natchez Trace in central MS and have traveled it my entire life.......If you like history and have lots of time, the historical markers and cool to stop and check out.......(I've stoppped at everyone of them between Tupelo and Natchez.) But, this ain't the road to take if you're trying to put miles under you belt.....the speed limit is pretty heavily enforced by the feds. I enjoy the ride quite often just to kick up my feet and cruise along.....lots of shade in the summer time.
If you are in Natchez hit Fat Momma's for the best tamales you'ver eaten or go down under the hill for some fine fried catfsh at ****-o-the Walk
