I use to use I-81 instead of I-95 all the time when I would go from FT Bragg NC back home to VT/NH. Its a better ride and not as much traffic, IMO. Hell come down and jump on the BRP if your not in a hurry. I think it starts in Virgina but I'm not sure, going through NC and Tenn is very scenic and great riding.

 

Any updates? Some current suggestions.

I-81 is one long road. Took it to get to Connecticut and although it’s across multiple states, it was like driving across Texas. Endless it seems.
