The Dragon and Cherohala Skyway

RE: The Dragon and Cherohala Skyway
Myself and 2 buddies did "the Dragon" this past June on an 8000 mile trip that took us from Los Angeles to the Outer Banks and then Portland, OR and back to L.A.
Because of the fact that I blew a tire on the Blue Ridge Parkway, when we got to the Dragon, it was night AND RAINING.
We sat at the bottom and discussed all the terrible things that could happen to us up there. Including being gobbled up by a bear. We then watched three Gold Wings, that all had so many colored lights on them that they loked like rolling casinos, head up the hill. We did a clutch adjustment on one of the bikes and then took off. A Heratage, a Road King, and an Ultra. We hammered it til we found the limit of our tires. It's great when you have that road to yourself. We rounded a curve and found one of those flashy Gold Wings in the ditch. Oh well...
We offered assistance, they were cool, so we blasted to the top and got to lay in the road in the as the rain broke and the moon emerged.
Awesome experience.
