Default Rides around Baltimore or Washington ??

Looking for suggestions for club rides within 100-150 miles of Baltimore or Washington, DC. Have some new riders in the club so rides longer then 250-300 miles round trip would be an overnighter. Want to see interesting sights, a good place to eat , or just a good road to ride. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful to ride in but the northern end is about 125 miles one way. Any good places to ride/visit in Northern West Virginia or southern PA? I'm planning a club ride to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello in Charlottesville but that will be an over night ride. We'll spend the night in the Shenandoah Valley and visit a cavern on the way back Sunday.

Route one north past Cheasapeake Harley, over the damn into Cecil County to route 222 north, lots of Amish and a nice road to Lancaster. Coming back just past Lancaster harley take a left on Rt. 272 south. I think about five miles is a right over a bridge instead of the damn and come home through point of rocks park. Nice loop. I think about 140 mile round trip from Baltimore.

Gettysberg makes a nice ride. Plenty of places to eat and you can do the auto tour route on a motorcycle and see 90% of the Battlefield in an hour. I usually do this ride in about 6 hours with plenty of time from the Aberdeen area.

Thanks for the input. I have the name of a Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant my sister recommeded in Lancaster. The trip over the damn wold be a good way to get there. I haven't been to the damn in 50 years or more.

We typically ride to bike weekend in Gettysburg but we could always do another ride to the battlefields. There is a nice road through Michaeux State forest between Gettysbug and Chambersburg on route 30. The road goes up into the moutnains. Road it two summers ago and the temps on the mountain were 10° cooler then in Gettysburg. I know of a good steak house in Chambersburg too.
