Baton Rouge to Ft. Collins, Co
We are planning a trip from Baton Rouge to Ft. Collins at the end of May. (3 bikes with solo riders)(Ultra, Road King, and Fat Boy). We plan on camping part of the time and staying at motels some. (prefer camping)
I would appreciate any/all information on routes, things to see, places we can "throw up a tent", camping experiences and things to watch for, etc.
This will be our first experience camping with our Harleys. Need to know things to take, not to take, what to watch out for.
We will be spending several days in Ft. Collins area. What are some of the things to see, places of interest, good rides, etc.
Thanks

Will let others chime in for what to do/see between Baton Rouge and Fort Collins.
From Fort Collins, basically, the thing to do is head west. Every road is two wheeled divine. Note Colorado 14 heading west through the Poudre Canyon, over Cameron Pass towards Walden. A must do ride. U.S. 34 west to Rocky Mountain National Park and the famed Trail Ridge Road is also a must do. Look north towards Laramie, WY. South of there is the Snowy Range. Worth riding and seeing from your bikes as well.

Take layers of clothing, as you will be up above 14k feet if you do Trail Ridge Road -- and above the tree line. Poudre Canyon is great, and going south out of Estes Park on 72 to Idaho Springs is a great ride. Make a big loop, including the west route back up toward Rocky Mountain National Park by taking 40 north to 34 (this will take you over Berthoud Pass near Winter Park) -- and while you are down near that area, take in Mt. Evans!
