I add a picture of the "haunted damn" Lived in the county for 12 years of my life and never heard of the damn being haunted...lol

Close up of it

A view from the BRP exit to Hwy 80. 2 motorcycles coming up. They were from Florida a young couple the girl had dropped her bike in the last tight twisty before the BRP when I was riding up helped her pick it up and they were rolling again.

I did the BRP to Mount Mitchell about 4-5 months ago, along with 261 And 143 across Roan mountain. They are exceptionally good rides..The Snake is also a good ride in that area (Shady Valley). We went right by Little Switzerland on the BRP going to Mount Mitchell.

A link to some of the pics I took from my last ride up there a month or so ago. Had a video but I couldn't download it into my computer. Finally found out why my oldest had doubled and tripled up on some pics and videos of her pitching and had eat up my storage...lol But I had deleted the video before I found it out guess I will just have to ride it again...lol

Theres a really good book :motorcycle adventures by Hawk Hagebak that includes the areas that are of interest to you. I think I got it at Barnes and Noble $14.95 Good luck with the road trip. Suey

May I suggest you look up AMERICARIDESMAPS. you should be able to google it. This guy makes motorcycle maps for the area. I have a whole set for the smokeys. they are small, easy to read, and I havn't found a bad road yet. Ive been riding the area for three yrs. last was first with the maps and has been the best so far.
