If they shut the govt down like they say they are I'll be there and possibly my son as well. Last time I went was in 72. I've been to the fall one a few times though. Also heard there's going to be mc checkpoints set up by the GA DOT. since i don't have a legal helment i may have to alter my route. Coming from Clarksville, TN.

Hey 66. Where are you leaving from. Have the same thing in mind. If weather is ok, I might leave on the 10th and prob one day at the speedway and also Rossmeyer. HAve gone the past two years but trailered down to Ga with my uncle. Got to say though....being in the truck and trailer from Pa to Ga sure was nice cause it was raining like pigs.

There will be lots of places to camp in and around Daytona. Several bars, such as Black Cloud Saloon, will have camping pretty cheap during bike week.
If you're looking for a decent place to park near Main St, I recommend the parking garage on Earl St. just off of A1A. I don't remember the cost but it's not too bad and only a couple blocks from Main.

Just back from Daytona today! It seems like that the economy and gas price has hit everyone. You still can find a parking space on the main street, and for $5 you can park next to the main st for all day, and you can comeback, if you leave; no extra charge.
There is plentiful of hotels, and the price is relatively not bad at all; ave. $100/night with 2 full size beds.
I've never like the crowded street in Daytona, but I've had a good time this year. Even though, it was sunshine, but chilly (low 60s at night, and low 50s in the morning).
I may go back in October again. The beach is beautiful!
