The bike will be fine and another reason I bought that 7 year unlimited mileage warranty. FYI, I would stop for the night in Sparks/ Reno, Nevada and get some poker time in before going on over to CA. I think the longest leg I ever did was from Pamplona, Spain to Paris, France in a day and that sucked. I always use that experience as ammunition to convince the guy I ride with to stop and chill. We are heading down to Croatia in May for the European HOG Rally but I am planning at least two days each way. Gotta take the time to smell the roses or you should just fly.

I did an endurance ride on mine (along with a couple hundred other riders) this past summer and rode for about 20 hours a day on secondary roads including the Alcan. Did it for 11 days and my bike seemed to be just fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

How's your bike now, IronAss? Any problems come up that you think may have been caused by the trip? Just curious, that's all.

Also, did you hear/see of anyone else having any major issues on the HH on newer Harleys?

Thanks.

Haven't had any problems with it at all. Only thing the trip did to it was to knock some paint off the front fender and gas tank on the Alcan. Still running with the original cam chain tensioners and they still looked good when I checked them when I got home.

Only problems I heard about as far as the newer bikes was the guy that organized the whole thing wasn't able to finish because his throttle by wire crapped out on him and heard of a couple bikes breaking belts but don't recall hearing of anything else.

I only put a couple thousand miles on it after I got home before I had to come back to work. I'll be flying home for thanksgiving and want to do at least one couple day trip. Feel confidant that it will run just fine.

Won't bother a HD try it on a GW and frame will crack and basic fall apart.
Dave Zien 1000 miles a day 30 days he put Million miles on that HD frame is still goo to ride.
Another HD owner last year rode 1000 miles a day for 32 days
Many other HD owner have done those types of rides

Agreed...as long as you have the maintenance piece taken care off. Ride it until the tires fall off!

When you get the new tires check out and Re-pack the wheel bearing grease. If you have someone else do it make sure they will be repacked. I know somtimes dealers don't unless you ask them to.
