Im thinking of doing this trip next year around april time frame. Can you give some more details of the trip as far as mileage and time frame. What routes did you take coming and going. We have a friend that lives in the keys and that will be our first destination to get to.

Last year when we were at bike week, my dad and I shot down to the Keys to take in some of the scenery and get some miles in. I felt like just sticking around in Daytona is like doing figure eights in a big parking lot. At first its great but sooner or later it gets a little stale. Unless your are planning to drink up all the beer and Jack Daniels in Daytona, theres a great little place on Duval St. that has your name written all over it.

Took 17 down which pretty much takes you down the Atlantic coast, A1A to Route 1 to the Florida Turnpike to get around Miami and back to 1 to the Keys. Pretty much all 2 lane highway on 17 and alot of small towns to get thru. Took us 3 1/2 days to get to the Keys taking our good old time. I think it was around 1500 miles to Key West.Ran I95 home from Daytona in 15 hrs, 920 miles. Left at 8:00 PM and pulled into our house ( York, Pa ) at about 11:00 PM that same day. Gas stops only and 1 meal around 5:00 PM in Richmond, VA. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

You are 100% correct. It is called "Ricks". Spent 2 nights just sitting on the outside bar stool watching the "scenery". Name seemed to suit......just ask me how I know.
