I will be riding down from Richmond Hill GA on Sat 6th Nov to Lakeland for the Rosco Chilli Challenge. Not keen on doing the interstate route so looking for the best way down.
At present I am looking at either US-301 and FL-471 or US-17, FL-19/33
Any comments on either route?

Or

This will be the first ride on my new bike, 07 Road King, so really looking forward to it

You have limited options here. I'd take the I 75 or I 95 to 1-4 route and just get there faster. Then you can jet over to Bok Tower or elsewhere more interesting. Congrats on the new RK and be sure to regale us with words and pictures when you return

Your trip dowm 19/33 is a nice ride. Done it many times. Look at some of the side roads on the east side of the St. Johns north of Palatka. There's some nice scenery there as well. Traffic is a little bad through Eustis and Taveras area but other than that a good ride.
