Default Tortilla Flats, AZ

So the wife I took a nice little trip to Tortilla Flats up off of Canyon Lake on the Apache Trail up highgway 88 on the East side of the Phoenix Valley this past Saturday. Talk about some beautiful Desert scenery! Wow! It's a nice easy ride, lots of winding roads thru the trail to this little road side stop. The road is not in the best condition, few gravel spots on the sharp turns so go easy, go be sure to SCAN ahead!

It's nothing fancy really, but decent food, cold beer, and trinkets. Heck no Cell service and there isn't even a Land Line!

It was a nice little ride after several months of 110+ and very little riding. Wish it was cooler as we both cam back with a little too much sun. Looking forward to the AZ mountains in the coming months!

Yeah that trip is on our agenda for this fall. Head up to Jerome for the night and come back down 89A. I ahve done in it in a MINI and all I i could think about was riding it on the bike.

That's a great ride along with the Salt River Canyon. I need to get back down there again.

Took that road many times back in the late 60's and early 70's. Saw some filming of Then Came Bronson at the old Bluebird Gold Mine. Is that still there? Great country down there and hope to ride again in the area in the not-to-distant future!

When the weather is nice, my wife and I like to head out there for breakfast on lazy Saturday or Sunday mornings. In the winter it can be pretty busy though, so we tend to only go during the "off seasons" (between the heat and snow birds).

Did that ride in the summer of 06 with a rented 1200C when I was in Phoenix for work. Was there in a cage before on vacation. It's a nice little ride, I agree about the beautiful scenery! If I can ever afford retirement, I'm heading that general direction.
