It could be hot as hell that time of year. It gets over 100 degrees some time in July and August. That is why we waited until September.

 

Wow Utah looks amazing, we are planning this trip in early June! Was there alot of ma and pa type motels where you could park right in front of your motel room? We might take a tent and do every other night just to cheapin it up a little, but i do like my AC after riding all day as well!

 

It depends on the town, but yes, there are a few like that. I've stayed in some in Kanab and Torrey.

 

Beautiful part of the U.S.! My wife and I did a similar route during the first week of October a couple years ago. Incredible time of the year...great weather, little traffic. Sure glad you went to Island in the Sky - that ride ( and nearby Dead Horse Point) were, IMO, some of the sights during the entire week. Thanks for posting (back in 2010!)
